Recently i am quite busy with my term paper , which is part of a course requirement in an entrepreneurship  course. The prof is kind of lunatic to ask for a decent paper to be presented in a colloquim within 7 weeks time . Time is really pressing  and then i was kind of lost in the field of Entre study, a fragmented research area . As i go deeper in my research, there i encountered  a "good" stat analysis for my research issues: SEM/LISREL

To make it short, if you face the same situation here are tips for you to gain a quick understanding on how to go about it :

 

Preparation : Prepare your original model and be sure you know how to path (PATH1)

 

1. Measurement model -validity of variables.

 

it is about validity and reliability of the variables. Here we face two monsters : latent and manifest variables. Latent are actually the contruct and manifest are the attributes .

Assuming unidimensionality , run a reliability test on those variables.

Then a correlation matrix is needed and the confirmatory factor analysis will be run to check the validity of the variables.

 

2.stuctural model-analysis of relationship variate among the variables

This second step is run to analyze the relationship among the varibles.

 

in these step 1 and 2 , correction measures are needed if these three errors occur:

parameter loading of any variable exceeds or near 1.

negative variate variance.

and a very large measurement error.  

 

3.competing models .

after test you model your model to be fit . You might try nested models and check if there are better alternatives models that fit better.

 

I use STATISTICA 7.0 in my analysis. It is user friendly if you use the path wizard and it is gonna drive you nuts if you try the advance path tool. I was wishing for a Liserl software but unfortunately, i dont have it . It does a more decent job. Maybe i should buy a pirated copy some other time at the university mall....
